The free medical camp at Baru Sahib has given a new life to a poor boy hailing from the adjacent hills. The oldest of the three children of Ram Parkash, Maan Singh was operated upon by the surgeons from Jallandhar volunteering their services at the annual medical camp.
"We have no words to express our thanks to Baru Sahib", said the parents of Maan Singh, "We did not have to pay a single penny. We were extremely worried about him as he is our oldest child. The other two being girls, he is going to be our support in our old age. Now we are hopeful and positive about our family's future."
The Kalgidhar Society, Baru Sahib expresses its thanks to the overseas sangat and in India, who donate generously towards the ongoing philanthropic activities at Baru Sahib and other parts of Northern India. These activities include Home for the elderly, Orphanage, free medical camps (twice annually), Akal Charitable Hospital, Home for the Widows and Destitute women and free education to poor students.
