Ardas Ceremony for Eternal University performed at Baru Sahib

Yet another milestone achieved by Baru Sahib. The inauguration of the Eternal University at Baru Sahib (H.P) is another step forward towards the vision of Sant Attar Singh Ji. His vision was to create a centre of world-class learning and scholarship both for intellectual and spiritual knowledge. Ardas ceremony took place for the establishment of Eternal University on July 3, 2006 as a dedication to 100 years of Sant Attar Singh Ji’s vision. Baba Iqbal Singh Ji performed the Ardas, along with the ‘panj pyaras’; Dr. Khem Singh Gill, Dr. Manmohan Singh Atwal, Dr. Balwant Singh Sekhon, Bhai Gyan Singh and Dr. Davinder Singh.

Initially, Sant Attar Singh Ji set up a school for girls in 1906, followed by a boys' school and later the Akal Degree College at Mastauna in Punjab. The process of fulfilling this dream was initiated in 1965 when his Harvard educated disciple ‘Sant Teja Singh’ sent up a spiritual centre in the remote village of Baru. He thanked Almighty that Sant Attar Singh Ji’s vision is fulfilling, as children from all over the globe are coming to Baru Sahib to study, he further continued that Almighty should bless the children, and keep them on the path preached by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Eternal University is the 1st ever private university of the Khalsa Panth in its history of 500 years. It will focus on higher academic standards via collaborating with the universities of leading nations. It is a University for the upliftment of rural population. All the proceedings of Eternal University will be run only by the support of Sikh Sangat all over the world. We humbly request the whole Sikh Sangat to donate its Dasvandh so that future leaders can be created which will take the Panth to new heights and will be role models for others.
