Having felt the need to expand the scope of this noble cause, The Kalgidhar Society plans to "reach out to the unreached" through its various educational, health care and social vices eradication programmes under the project "RURAL POOR DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE " (Phase - 1) costing Rs. 141 Crores (1400 Millions). This project is proposed to be further taken up in four phases of 5-years each in the future. The RPDI - 1 has been drafted to make progressive reforms in the areas of Quality Education, Primary Health Care and Social Welfare for the rural poor consisting of Small / Marginal farmers, Scheduled Castes / Tribes and landless labourers. The total cost of the first phase is for Rs. 141 crores.

It is expected that a silent socio-economic upliftment reform will result out of this sure-footed grass-root exercise of the RPDI - 1. The footprints of "eradication of illiteracy and vices" would keep on growing and positively touch the lives and fulfill the needs of the rural deprived classes.

The proposed hospitals shall provide free Medical Healthcare including Surgeries, Medicines, Fooding, accommodation etc for the above identified sections. Fully subsidised medical facilities are rarely available to these sections.

The De-addiction Centres will help in eradicating vices amongst the rural folk and would bring down the crime rate, conflicts, litigations etc amongst these sections. The alcohol free movement under the pattern of the “Alcoholics Anonymous” would prove to be a saviour against marital discords and exploitation of the womenfolk.

The Women Care Centres, Orphanages and Senior Citizens Centres shall undertake Social Welfare for the benefit of the rural poor from far flung areas of Northern India and Hilly areas of the Himalayan region.
